So my macbook was bought 12/31/06 on apple.com and i received it sometime around the early to mid part of jan. Everything was working perfect until 2 nights ago when the computer started randomly shutting off. Then i started the computer up a couple more times and the apple logo on startup was jumbled, the screen turned orange and my deepest fears started coming true. Now whenever i start the computer up it takes 10 seconds of lag before it even flips the apple logo on then sometimes randomly gets into osx before shutting off , and sometimes even loops the apple logo..

8 days after my manu. 1yr ltd warranty ends I think my mobo has gone bad. what the heck can i do?

Call apple and politely explain the situation. They will normally take care of it if it's just a few days past like yours...

Also, make sure you take all the usual steps before calling, especially resetting the pram - this is a big favorite of apple IT reps in my experience.
