I have a question that I am interested to hear peoples thoughts on.

If you were to look at the MacBook vs the MacBook Pro from a value point of view - which is a better value for what you pay and what you get.

In other words comparing what you get for what you pay does one machine have an inherent better value?

Curious to hear what you have to say about that.

Thanks!

Why do you want to know about the value. There are things on the Macbook Pro that the Macbook doesn't have. It all depends on what you need and what you're using it for. As far as Apple and notebooks go, the only other choice you have is the Macbook Air.

I agree that they are over priced, but do not agree that the MacBook Pro is more. Look at laptops with similar specs to the MacBook Pro and you will see that it is more close to the average value than MacBooks and their alternatives.

Look at this Sony Vaio for example

it has a 13" screen, and is £40 cheaper than the MacBook pro.

What made my decision between the MB and the MBP ultimately was that I want it to last at least 4 years, and I think that with the better graphics card and bigger and better screen the years will be more comfortable.
