MacBook vs. MacBook pro?

So, after entering the world of Mac with a Mac mini, I'm thinking of going all out an getting a MacBook. My question is: what's the difference? MacBook pro seems a lot more expensive. Why? Is it worth the extra dough?

Depends on what you are going to be using it for. I have a new MBP while my wife as the new MacBook and both are great machines. The reason why I went with the MBP is I wanted the word Pro on my computer, kidding. I like the options of a bigger screen.
