i turned off my macbook yesterday around 3:30am
woke up around 9am and took macbook to my work.
i have PC at work so i didnt turned it on until 12pm.
as my hand reach to the bag, i felt little hotness.
when i grab my macbook and it was hot.
i was thinking.....did i not turn off the machine?
i DID turn it off for about 9 hrs.
i was shocked.
i was trying to turn it on it didnt work.
i was stunned again.
so i took out the battery
and it worked.
pee yew!
but im kinda scary if this will happen again
can anybody help?????

little note for my macbook
recently i upgrade my OS system from 10.4.11 to 10.5.6
also memory from 512mb to 2gb.
and hard drive from 50gb to 250gb.
i always check the temperature with Temperature Monitor.
and after those upgrades my macbook was getting hotter than before.
when i had 10.4.11 highest temp was around 69c
right now highest temp that i saw was 80c. (especially when i do ichat video)
and i have labtop cooling fan.
i just installed the 10.5.6 so its pretty much empty no photoshop or anything
just basic apps and couple of apps that i downloaded from internet (which is legal programs)
help!!!!!

Pee yew? Did the macbook poop its pants?

You're going to have to write more coherent than that to ensure you're getting the proper help. Was it on charge until you left the house? If so, there could be a short in the battery somehow which made it overheat, and it kept that heat until you pulled it out of the bag (which was insulating it). In any case, take it to a store to check out the battery.

I'd wager it turned on in your bag and heated up in there. The lid probably popped open enough and bam...running.

Just an aside, but hitting the space bar twice between sentences with proper punctuation makes a much more readable post as compared to using line breaks. ;)

thanks for the comment!

yea power adapter was connected to macbook after i turned it off. but it was one of those labtop bag so i dont think lid would be able to popped and turn the machine on by itself. dont you have to press the power button in order to turn it on? (after proper shutdown)

This is a stab in the dark, but you might have put the adapter in with it. And we all know adapters get very hot, and the bag acted as an insulator. Otherwise sometimes my old mac used to wake from sleep (its lid closed) when i removed a fash drive or plugged in a mouse or something. But you said yours was turned off so..

i know its really weird, but when i grab the macbook in the morning it wasn't hot at all. well i hope that this will never happened again. i might consider buying a new batter though.
thanks guys

Just to be clear, OP you turned the computer OFF didn't you? As in completely shut down and not just putting it to sleep right? If that's the case then it must be a battery issue.
