MacBook White Display Problems

I have a MacBook Core Duo that is having issues with the monitor. It comes in and out. I have had the ribbon cable replaced, but this has not solved the issue. Any ideas?

Have you replaced the inverter?
or could be a dodgy backlight in the lCD

I replaced the inverter and the backlight seems to be fine. I am beginning to suspect the display. Any other suggestions?
