Hello macrumors, this is my first post regarding my macbook.

So I have a 13inch macbook. Sadly some lotion got onto the hinge where the screen rotates, near the "macbook pro" text. The screen went bad and there were rainbow like lines everywhere. The screen still connected to an external vga display with no problems.

A new lcd was ordered and connected. The LVDS cable was very difficult to reinsert to the new one but it was inserted. Upon turning on the macbook I see a white screen. It still connects to a VGA display fine and the brightness can be increased or decreased on the macbook screen. On one instance the macbook and the vga were on a single dual display where the actual screen was being displayed on the macbook (still white) and the extra was on the external vga display. I believe this is called mirror display. I found the shortcut to disable it and now the screen is displayed on the vga but the macbook screen is still all white. So I believe the screen is recognized but idk what the problem is.

Can somebody please help? Thanks in advance!
