I have a chance to get either one. The White MB everyone on here knows the specs on for $850 ish with taxes. Or I can get a Alum. MB 2.0 Ghz with upgraded RAM to 4GB and a 500 GB HD that is in PRISTINE condition for $800(maybe can talk him down to $775) Which way would you swing on this one?
If it matters I am going from a 1.0 GHZ 256 RAM Titanium Powerbook G4.

Don't know what you need it for but if it were me, I'd go for the Alu unibody: better build quality, more RAM, bigger HDD...

Downside is the battery of course and perhaps the screen quality but I'm not sure on that one. BTW: check the battery condition on the Alu mac before buying, lots of quality problems.

I would go for new Mac Book White because it is new and you will have warranty. The new Mac Books are really nice. You didn't state what you needed it for. I have both a Alu Mac Book Pro at work and the Mac Book White for personal use. For me the Mac Book White is perfect for surfing the web, light gaming, and programming. You really can't go wrong for the price.
