Hi Guys,

I have a 2009 MacBook with 2GB of RAM in it. 2 x 1GB - 204-pin PC3-8500 (1066MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM.

Later on today I should end up with 2 x 2GB - 204-pin PC-10600 (1333 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM due to an upgrade I am doing.

I know that the MacBook can't perform with the 1333 MHz, but will the newer RAM fit in this machine and function (but just perform at 1066MHz)?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

1066 MHz vs 1333 MHz RAM

You can install the 1333 but your system will run at 1066. No real advantage.
