Macbook will not start up!

It is a macbook 15' with snow leopard software. I've just downloaded a software that netflix required me to do before watching the movies.

Now it is the start up gray screen and nothing else.

I don't have the installation cds or firewires. The only thing I know is the control+s but what to do after that... No idea.
I'm a student with papers due that is stuck on the laptop.

Please help and respond quickly, thank you

There is only a 13" MacBook, the 15" one is a MacBook Pro.

Have you tried any of these steps?

I believe that's a MacBook Pro.

I don't think Silverlight will cause a MacBook to not boot.
