Are there any rumors of a "Home" button on future MacBook (Pro/air)? (TouchId)

I'm not sure if a button is useful, but the fingerprint reader would be awesome!

I wouldn't mind if they put the iPhone technology into what is now the power button on Macbooks. So basically yes, as long as it really works and does it well. I think that if anybody can do it right, it's Apple.

What would this "home" button do, take you back to the desktop? We already have F11

If this were to happen, I'd figure it'd bring up the launchpad list of installed apps. It should be integrated into the trackpad in some sort of way if so. My Acer travelmate ( a very well built pc laptop ) has a pretty good fingerprint scanner. Windows 10 really improved alternative authentication implementations but nothing too fancy.

Poorly placed confidence suggests you haven't bought very much hardware from Apple in recent times.

Isn't that what Launchpad is (with its associated F4 shortcut)? A fingerprint reader would be a cool idea IMO

Glad others are interested.
I have a HP ZBook and use the fingerprint reader all the time to login or unlock. My wife has a Dell with the fingerprint reader too. Interesting Dell doesn't support it. Perhaps it's not supported because its hackable.
Apple has better fingerprint technology in my opinion.
So a fingerprint reader like on my iPhone would be awesome on my MacBook Pro.

I'd love TouchID on my laptop - since I travel with it frequently, I have the screen set to lock whenever it sleeps. It would be much more convenient to unlock with my fingerprint!

Home button? Not so much but I would love to have TouchID on my MBP. Integrate it into the power button and it would be easy to use. It's a big help on the phone since my 1Password login is very long.

Yes, I would......TIRED of logging in over and over again

Not me, buddy. I've had fingerprint readers on all my Windows machines since about 2006, and like the other login gimmick face recognition it's been pointless for me.

Haven't been around apple products long ? Been using mine on both my iPhone and iPad with it, and no issues.. Research first before posting wrong info for apples TouchID.

Not really apples fingerprint recognition has been second to none.

It was opinion, not info. You're welcome to hold a different one.
