MacBook Woes

My MacBook has recently been freezing while im using it, and not booting correctly (getting frozen on the Apple boot screen.) I really want to avoid going to the Apple Store at all costs. I have already reset the PRAM and repaired my disk permissions, yet the problem still persists, here are my results from repairing the disk permissions:

Sorry it's so long, any advice? I think there is something screwy going on with Flash Player.plugin, I recently updated it by downloading it from Adobe's website, and I think this might be a factor in the problem, any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Try using the CODE tags as I've done in the quote above, it'll make it more readable.

Is there a particular reason you don't want to go to the Apple store? I imagine you're not too far from one if you live in LA. I don't think you need to go the clean install route as a first option.
 
Try creating a new user, see what happens.

Edit: likely tossing all the flash preference files may help also.

certainly not... you can back up all your files first ;)
but you can reinstall without wiping everything out anyway

but i'm with gauchogolfer... why would you want to avoid going to the apple store at all costs? the genius bar can be quite helpful and could save you significant headache. they will probably be in a position to diagnose your problem.

diagnose and even fix it, i've heard they can be miracle workers
 
How would I go about reinstalling Leopard without wiping my HD? I inserted the disk, but it said it could not install the version off of the disk because a newer version (10.5.2) is already installed.

Also, which files in particular (flash preference files) should I delete to solve this problem?

The preference files end in .plist and can be found in your Library/Preferences/ folder. Look for ones that have Flash in the filename and drag them to the desktop. Restart your computer and see if that helps.

Also, creating a new user account should effectively do the same thing, since new .plist files will be created for the new user.
