macbook wont boot leopard cd

hey all, when i try to boot my macbook off the leopard cd, it restarts and everything, then it just gets stuck in a restart loop, like it starts with the chime, theres a grey screen, but no apple, then it just restarts again, and this keeps going. any help? i did a pram reset and repaired the hd permissions. help!

Hold down the option key at startup and select the Mac OS X Install DVD.

Need more info. Does it boot up with a good hard drive in it? Does the dvd work in other systems? Just use as much process of elimination as you can to narrow it down. Eventually you'll find the culprit.
