i'm trying to figure this out, as my dvd superdrive refuses to burn a dvd today. i've tried about 5 times on iphoto to burn a data dvd, and once on finder, all come as failures while trying to verify the disc. it went well about a week ago, but now it's just failure after failure. any idea what's going on and how to fix this? thanks.

Have you tried a different brand of disk, or burning slower?

Often i get errors like this too but its due to the cd being scratched.
try just burning a couple of random files to dvd in finder, if that doesnt work it could be something wrong with the dvd laser. I've seen things like that happen in PC's quite often.

Also slot loading dvd drives (like the macbooks) are often iffy with cd cleaners so i would hold of on doing it until someone else can confirm it didnt break something.

Try burning something in another program to rule out your Superdrive and your media.

i tried burning something simple on finder at 1x speed and it passed, so it's still working. i've restarted the computer and i'm trying iphoto burning again now, and will post the results in a few minutes, but it looks like i just needed to let the computer rest as it was suffering from overheating for being on too long. thanks anyway.

it passed the second time, it looks to be that i tried to load too much info on one dvd, as there wasn't any problems after i cut the load down. iphoto is really weird once you inch close to the limit.

I have the same issue, I can burn with other programs but finder won't burn any files to dvd. It just reads them as "untitled" and doesn't respond to finder trying to burn it.

I have the same issue - everything is fine until the verification process. I even moved my files to an external drive and tried burning them on my desktop (also a mac) and am having the same problem. I've spent a small fortune trying different brands of disks. Am very frustrated!
