Hi Guys,

I have a 2009 Macbook Unibody that will not charge. Battery is about 2 years old, computer runs fine.

I believe it's the connection on the motherboard, or the piece that connects to the motherboard. Simply put, the magnetic piece that the mag safe connector connects to. I've used two different chargers and neither work.

I've had some plastic chip away there and some metal particles attach to the area around the magnetic connector but I cleaned it out to create a firm connection, still no dice. Any chance I can replace this part?

Yes, you can replace the magsafe board.
It's a challenging job.

Here's the iFixit steps to replace. You can decide if you want to try that job..
You can even buy the part from iFixit, although you may find it for less if you search for the part number.
Apple's part number for the magsafe board in a Late 2009 MacBook is 922-9176
