MacBook won't do scheduled start up

I'm trying to get an aluminum MacBook to wake itself up at 6:00 AM Christmas morning. I can't get the Energy Saver Preference Panel Schedule option to work. I can't get it to work on a new white MacBook either. Any suggestions?
