I got a Macbook about a year ago and it would only download certain things (ie. skype, Mozilla Firefox). The other things (ie. DND online, vindictus nexon, pretty much any game I want to play that requires me to download a client) will only show me a text edit document with a bunch of symbols and letters. It wasn't that much of an issue before, but now I'm getting a tad irritated by it. Can anyone help me?

What file suffix do these downloaded files have? If you are not sure, select one of these files in Finder, press Command + I to open the GET INFO window and look under General > Kind and under Name & Extension to see the file suffix.

And are you sure, those clients are Mac OS X compatible?

Are they Mac versions, or do the files you're downloading end in .exe? If they're .exe, then that's a Windows app and you can't run it. According to the Vindictus site, there isn't a Mac version.
