Macbook wont find any wireless networks!

My macbook wont find any wireless networks?

i have rebooted the machine and took the battery out etc


and whenever it searches for a network it never finds one. and i know that there is one availible because a girl with a hp right beside me is connected to one...

what can i do?

Ask your friend the name of the network then manually join it by selecting "join other network" in the airport section of the network preference pane.

Make sure your airport is turned on too.
