i bought a used 13" 2008 unibody macbook
that supposedly had a dead battery but worked fine with the power cable... not so much
it wont power on, i hear no noises or feel/see any indicators that it powers on but i do see the little green lights when i press the button on the side near the ports when it is plugged in so i know its getting power

any ideas?

Check the ram as well.

It's a long shot, but check the ram, see if it's seating correctly. Have you tried giving the PRAM an ol'zapper? Probably will not help, but eh can't hurt either.

yeah ram was a long shot, didnt work :(
also zapping the pram didnt work but im guessing the lack of power caused that

im wondering whats apple's return policy?
maybe il just run down to my nearest apple store buy a replacement cable and battery
if those dont work, return them and cut my losses on the macbook selling it for parts because wouldnt it be the logic board at that point and they are pricey?
if not im still open to suggestions

thanks again
