Hey, i just got a macbook from a friend to help sell as-is. Anyway, long story short, he ended up getting a new macbook pro after his battery and charger died on him. His sister noted that when she used her charger on it, everything powered up fine (this was about a month ago) but it hasn't had a working battery for over 4-5 months.

I just recently came across a working macbook battery for cheap, so i picked that up in hopes of being able to resell this macbook for more since everything else should work. The battery was more than half charged. I've ordered a replacement adapter, but USPS seems to like to take its time to deliver it, so I won't have it for another few days.

When i plugged in the new battery and tried turning it on, it wouldn't turn on. No harddrive sounds, no light in front, nothing on screen, etc. I've tried resetting the PMU, but that didn't help either. I'm not too familiar with macs, but could this be because I need to connect an AC adapter after resetting the PMU? Or is it because it needs AC power to recharge some internal (not sure if macs have a CMOS battery or the like) power source?

I'm rambling a bit, so I'll sum it up. Macbook (Early 2007 i believe), hasn't had a battery for several months. Worked with an AC adapter about a month ago, hasn't been turned on since. Got a new working battery (charged), put it in, won't turn on. Reset the PMU - still doesn't work.

Thanks!!
