I'll make it short and sweet:

- I have a 2007 Macbook Pro. I try and start it, it goes through the boot process but makes it to a blue-ish screen and nothing more. I can move around the mouse but I cannot get to the desktop.

- I tried to reformat it with a bootable USB. I boot from the USB, I get the gray screen with the Apple logo and the spinning circle. After two mins, the Apple turns into a "do not enter" sort of sign and the circle spins for eternity.

- I tried to enter safe mode by holding shift on bootup. It gets to the Apple and the spinning circle and it does that forever.

Where do I go from here?!?

Haha if this computer is unrepairable then it will be a cold day in hell before I buy another :D

After 5 years of use you would never buy another? I have never had a laptop other than a Mac last more than 2 years

5 years of use is a lot of time but try running Apple Hardware Test. It might be as simple as a bad ram module.
