macbook wont read DVDs but will read CDs

I was watching Ironman and after 1:30:00 it froze and my rom wont read anymore DVDs but will read CDs ... can anyone help ? is my rom dying ?
 
Do you mean your superdrive? The laser in your superdrive may need cleaning. If that doesn't work it most likely needs to be replaced, is your macbook still under warranty?
