I have the unibody macbook. It boots up, gets to the apple screen, then the screen turns grey and the mouse is still there. It wont load past there.

I have only been able to access the internet because I run bootcamp and I am currently on the windows side. Its kind of ironic that my windows side still works, whereas my mac side is failing. I have only 12x MB of free space on my macbook and i thought that might be the problem. I have tried to delete stuff from my windows side, and it won't allow it because theres not enough room on the disk?

Ive considered hard drive failure. But a couple weeks ago a little disk image started appearing next to my Windows and mac disks upon start up named recovery 9.1.0 or something. I ran it and its like a disk utility thing. It says my hard drives are all okay, but i cant figure out how to delete files through it either.

Please let me know what i can do

if bootcamp works for you then i doubt it's a hard drive failure. It could possible be a corrupted OS.

Have you reviewed the steps in http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570 ?
