Hey guys,
I've been having troubles with my macbook CD drive lately, and this new problem is very annoying.
When watching a CD movie, no matter what I do subtitles are displayed. It's not a foreign movie either. I go to the menu and select subtitles off, but still they're displayed once I hit play.

All the movies that now have subtitles, didn't use to.
I've been playing movies on here for three years and suddenly everything has subtitles turned on and I cannot turn them off.

I can't figure out out! if you have any advise please help me its driving me crazy!

Does the DVD have hardcoded subtitles?

Or is it one you got from the video shop/store.

Sorry I should have said this before.

The DVD player has a heading at the top called Features select and you will see a subtitles section. Click on that and see if subtitles are enabled, if so turn it off and hopefully that will take care of your problem. You keep saying CD movies and CD drives, are you watching VCD movies, whats the deal??

problem is closed caption was activated

This happened me in the middle of a film.

The subtitles were clearly turned off but it turned out closed captioning was activated.

Go >Features >Closed Captioning >Turn Off
