Macbook won't turn on

I have a white 2008 Intel Macbook. I had some store credit at the local Apple resellers (not the store) so I sent it in to get the dust cleared out of it. Get it back, and lo and behold: it won't turn on. Tried all the basic tips like SMC and PRAM reset, checking if the adapter works, etc. Nothing.

Any tips? Am I out of luck? What can I do?

Yes. Most of them aren't applicable because I can't get past a black screen.

Go back to the store and tell them they broke your MacBook.
