Is is possible to make the new macbook 3,1 go into 16 bit color (thousands)? I can find anywhere that can tell me how to switch/hack it into 16 bit. Is it a firmware issue or just something that got hidden away?

You only get the Millions of colors which is rather funny because its an 18 bit display not 32 bit. That leads to the question why cant it just step down to 16 bit.

The reason why its an annoyance is because neither starcraft or escape velocity nova will run on anything but 16 bit (thousands of colors).

What? You asked how to change it...I led you to where you can change the colors settings. Go to there and change it to thousands.

I dont have the option to change to thousands. I only have 'millions' of dithered colors.
