Hi there,

I currently use a Macbook Pro (4th Generation), 15inch
- Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.4GHz
- 2 GB RAM

My question; Can a MacbookAir handle Apperture? (11inch, 4GB) Or will it be slower than my current MBP? I might also use the machine for video editing (final cut express style) but mostly for college-use.

The switch to MBA would be because of its handiness :) at the same time, I don't want to reduce the power and still be able to get things done...
Do you have recommendations/advice/thoughts? Why not updating to a MBP 13inch?

Thanks a lot.

I have the newly released MBA 11" with 4GB, 1.8 GHz i7...and Aperture works just fine.

I have zero experience/knowledge with respects to video editing.

I realize this is a pretty simple response, but I hope it helps!

My older generation 11" Air can run Final Cut Studio 3 okay. Its not fantastic, and using it on the built in screens a bit of a pain, but for simple edits FCP7 at least, runs very nicely (and Im pretty sure this is the same for FCPX, it will certainly be the same/better for FCE4), I suspect the newer models will run it just as well if not better.
