Hi - I've got a MacBookPro6,1 i7 Dual Core 2.66 with 8gb ram.
I've also got a first gen Mac Pro Intel 1,1. Dual Core Xeon 2.66Ghz with 16GB RAM.
I use the Mac Pro for Logic / Motion etc so find the 16gb RAM really important, however, it's getting a little long in the tooth now and I am considering just going to one machine (Macbook Pro).
Would the current MacBook Pro's give me much of a performance boost over my current i7 / Mac Pro - Or will there be a big change early next year worth holding on for?
I can wait but if the current line of Macbook Pros would let me use 16GB and give me a sizable performance boost, I would get one now.
Any opinions / experience appreciated.
Thanks, Craig
