I've got a real strange one. I recently bought my first Mac and am trying to get my PC files to the iMac. I recently copied all of my pictures onto a Mac-formatted external Lacie hard drive using Mediafour's Macdrive on the PC. When I plugged that external HD into the iMac, some of those JPEG files were missing the .jpg extension. Even though the iMac shows these files as being JPEG images, iPhoto will not import them since they have no .jpg extension. These same files on the PC have the .jpg extension. So somehow in the transfer from the PC onto the external hard drive some (not all) of the .jpg extensions were stripped from the file names. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing???
I am moving the images from Windows XP machine, using Macdrive version 6, onto a Mac formatted external Lacie HD, onto a 24" 3.06gHz iMac running Leopard 10.5.2.
