I know this is probably a long shot but you guys are the experts so thought I'd ask here!
My son has a school project for his engineering course. They have been asked to research the costs involved in research, manufacturing, advertising etc of a specific product and he was told to look at the original Apple mac, which I assume would be the Macintosh 128k. These figures are unsuprisingly difficult to find! We know the sales numbers and selling costs so at this time are just having to work on estimated percentages allocated to different parts of the process.

If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

There is a nice feature article about this in Macworld June 1988 (can be found online).

It covers Macintosh SE, but I guess it is close enough
