Hi... I'm expecting I'll need to format the drive but here goes.

My MacBook Pro hung yesterday and when I rebooted it just hung at the screen with a progress bar.
Tried a number of things including booting into recovery mode. The physical disk seemed fine although macintosh HD was ghosted out. I read this is because it's protected by disk vault. I checked diskutil came list and the structure looked ok. I set it decrypting yesterday using the diskutil revert command. This morning the status was still 0% so I rebooted. Macintosh HD doesn't display now and core storage doesn't show the disk. The partition table and diskutil list seem to show partition still exists. I started a dd copy to an external disk and that's showing io errors although us copying the 400+Gb from this disk, but I'm not sure how I'll access the data.

Any suggestions on what I can do to get the logical volume Macintosh HD back so I can backup the data and install a new disk / fresh so install?.
