I have the macintosh screen save and desktop set. But for some reason every now and then it will just stop animating when the screen saver kicks in. I have to select a different one then select it again for it to animate again but after a random amount of times it will stop animating again.

Has anyone else has this issue or is there some setting I am missing.
I have the colour set to spectrum and it set for wallpaper and screen saver

Same issue. Found turning off “show as wallpaper” setting has it working as expected. In this instance however, I am using the classic Mac as a wallpaper and dynamic screen saver as well. Having it with “show as wallpaper” turned on, would stop the animation after a short while for some reason.

Update: Since installing 15.1 the issue has reappeared and this setting makes no difference. :(

Classic Mac live screensaver broken for me. This has been an issue throughout various builds of Sequioa, but in 15.5, I just get a solid colour that doesn’t animate. Playing with wallpaper settings makes it change colours. Go figure.

I have exactly the same issue, on one of my two Macs. Has anyone found a solution?

Hopefully this is fixed in macOS 26 Tahoe. Can’t see engineering spending any time on the current version for stuff like this. Will wait and see. Pathetic TBH that this is even an issue when it was a tentpole feature of Sequoia. On occasion it will start animating out of nowhere, only to return to a solid colour. Waiting to see what Tahoe does.
