MacJournal - How Do I Password Protect?

This has got me beat! I can easily lock a journal but somehow I cannot get password protection even though I've set a password. There doesn't seem to be a relationship. All one has to do is Unlock; there's no prompting for password. Doubtless I'm doing something stupid but I'd be grateful for a steer. It's essential I have password protection if MacJournal is going to be of any use in my work. Be glad to hear from someone. Thanks.
