Hi,

For almost 5 years this little charm of a machine has worked flawlessly, (a few problems with dead batteries) Ieven had it in the jungle for 6 months, with ants crawling out of the keyboard.

A few days ago, I closed slammed (shame on me) the screen alittle too hard, to close it, and as a result, after running diagnostics on it, I know have an error on the motherboard.

Its something about the thing that meassures/controls CPU heating, and since it doesnt work, it thinks the computer is overheating, and everything slows down to a halt.

The technician is now trying to replenish the CPU paste, to see if that will work, it must be almost 5 years old too. Yet it wont fix the motherboard error.

He says a new motherboard would cost me around 900usd.

Sure im excited about getting a new MBP with the whole sjubang, but if I could save the money, id be happy too.

So anyone who have been in a similar situation?

I mean the pain is that it works perfectly, if it was not for that tiny defect on the motherboard.

Any comments or advises?

Cheers
