MacMall open box specials

Does anyone have experience with these? I've seen some comments about problems with returns to MacMall, so I'm nervous. The price is very good, though, at $986 for a base 13" 2011, especially with no sales tax and free shipping.

I know Micro Center has even cheaper open box prices but the nearest one to me is 100 miles away.

I understand microcenter is far. The new price is 999$ though. I've also see in on apple refurbished for 1019. It might be a crapshoot though with an open box from macmall. I personally prefer the peace of mind of a new machine or apple refurb.
