You'll get 802.11b/g support. 'g' is limited to 54 Mbps as its top speed. You'll see much less due to connection overhead.

I've done wireless to ethernet transfers of 4-6 MB/s.

Wireless to wireless only tops off at 1-2 MB/s due to bidirectional connection overhead.
