Hi there,

I hope somebody can help me: I've got a MacMini (Mid 2010, El Capitan) and a Samsung SyncMaster P2770HD (I know, an old setup). Some years ago I hooked the Mac up with the Samsung using a DisplayPort-DVI Cable and everything was fine, but I had to change to a HDMI connection for a while. I remember it was a pain in the a** to get a decent picture when I made the switch from DVI->HDMI and it had to do something with re-naming the sources on the Samsung. Well, now I wanted to switch back to a DVI connection between the Mac and Samsung and I can't seem to get a satisfying setup: In system preferences it shows 1920x1080 resolution, but the picture is horrible, getting a headache from it. It works with 1360x768 resolution, but this i clearly do not want. Any suggestions? Any help is much appreciated...

Did you select the right source in the monitor?

1. Open MENU
2. Go to "Input"
3. Select "Edit Name" to open up the "Edit Name" sub menu.
4. Scroll down to "HDMI" and select it, (watch carefully)
5. Now assign "PC" or "DVI PC" to the HDMI setting!

Dear satcomer!

Thank you for your reply, but that doesn't help: I got it hooked up via DVI, not via HDMI :-/
