MacMini M1 - USB-C to Thunderbolt Display Issues

my new Mini shows no picture via usb-c to thunderbolt cable until i switch the monitor off and on again. The old 2018 Mini does not have this problem.

With Thunderbolt to DisplayPort the Display works Fine.
someone has similar problems ?

Aren't the USB-C ports Thunderbolt ones? I've just ordered a new monitor and a USB-C to Display Port cable. Hopefully I've ordered the right cable.
