Hi,

I just updated to macOS 10.14.4 (alongside an XCode-Update I think) and the update process was a bit strange this time. I let the update download and then I clicked on restart and then the loading indicator for the installation showed up (the screen with the black background and white Apple logo etc.). So far so good.

I the let the Mac alone and had breakfast ;-) and when I got back to my Mac the screen was off. I first thought that the update is done and the screen just shut off but in fact my MacBook was off. I powered it back up and got to the login screen. I tried to log in and then the loading took way longer than normal and then it just restarted instead of taking me to the desktop and the install indicator came up again. About 10-15 min later the update was done and now it seems like everything went well but the update process itself was just really weird.

Did anyone else also experience this?

Best wishes
Chris

Yep, same here.

I pressed the SHIFT key and got the login though. I was able to get back into Mojave that way, and then it told me there was a new update.. as if it wanted to install it "again".

I did that.

Now my desktop isn't show my stacks or files or drives, etc. Only usb-c connected drives are showing. Very annoying.

Restarted twice, made sure everything's up to date, .. yikes.

Thanks for your answer. I hope you get the problems fixed. Looking also at other threads here it seems that 10.14.4 is quite a buggy release unfortunately.
