I used to get multi-month uptimes on a Powerbook running MacOS X and 384MB of RAM, daily unplugging from displays, moving to new loctions, connecting to different displays and back. No problems with mempry management back then, and suggesting reboting a UNIX system to fix a problem, that would get you laughed out of the room.

Just upgraded 2 MacBook Pro's, no issues so far except one of the 2 lost its Desktop wallpaper - which was just a JPG of mine. It went to the vanilla orange background. Quickly fixed...

When updating my 2020 iMac to 13.5.2, the computer shut down instead of restarting, when I boot it again, the update continues as usual without any issues.

Is it something I should worry about? Is this happening for anybody else in the past ?

Mac Pro 2019 in signature, update went smoothly, everything appears to be working correctly. Corresponding iPadOS update also seems fine.

Safari just started crashing on startup, none of the usual fixes are working thus far although I am logged into here and it is working in safe mode, control start with options. I hope I dont have to reinstall everything, this is the first issue with Safari I have had in years.

Same issue, but I blamed mine on loading it from a SMB network share that does not automatically reconnect. It is now copied onto the Mac disk.

A flickering external display problem that no longer occurred after updating to 13.5.1 is back after updating to 13.5.2 so it looks like some degradation of code fixes is in the mix.

I don't think Apple cares about keeping the Ventura codebase consistency anymore since Sonoma is expected to come out as soon as iOS 17 releases, not 17.1. People still have the location bug after updating to Ventura 13.6 RC.

There are many Intel Macs that are not supported by Sonoma, Apple shouldn't be content to leave those many people with an OS lacking the quality effort - they know they will regret that very un- Steve Jobs -like action.

13.5.2 bricked my 14" MacBook Pro, working fine under 13.5.1
Screen went black. I could get it to the recovery screen but just got a black screen again.
Called Apple, they went through a few things but pronounced it dead.
Sad day.

If recovery mode works, its not bricked.

Try either a drive erase then a reinstall from inside recovery, and its very likely a DFU restore will work.

13.5.2 working fine here on M2 MBA and M2 14" Pro.

There were no firmware changes from 13.5.1 either so its likely just an OS issue

That’s the problem, I can’t get to stay in Recovery Mode, the screen just goes black.
It’s going back to Apple who are going to sort it out. They reckon a battery problem, but I’m not convinced.

The "unanswered FaceTime video call causes Intel Catastrophic Kernel Panic" problem has resurfaced as well - it was happening with 13.5 and it was not happening with 13.5.1 but it is back with 13.5.2 (error report sent to Apple).

Also, while typing this, suddenly this MacMini froze when I switched to a different virtual desktop, Mission Control apparently died, then the screen locked, then the password prompt appeared, I was able to enter my pw, then the eternal beachball spin happened. I remote logged in, tried killing the Dock but that didn't resolve the session, tried killing the WindowServer but that left a completely blank black screen. So did a 'shutdown -r now' and am finishing this post reply. This was an existing problem in 13.5 and didn't see this happen with 13.5.1 but this has reappeared with 13.5.2 (sad, very sad).

There appears to be a 13.6 in the pipeline, hopefully there will be a 13.6.1 as well to subtly fix these remaining faults.

Hopefully . . .

Is anybody else having an issue with Universal Control not working after updating to 13.5.2? I have a MacBook Pro M2 Max and it was working fine until I updated, and it's just not working now no matter what I try and do to fix.
