Lol is everyone not updating since WWDC is around the corner? Just curious.

Lol. Not updating to this beta as sometimes beta 1 is an older build than the previous public release.

No way I'm updating my MBP to MacOS 14 beta in June. I don't need those kind of headaches with a major release early on.

I'm having issues with Airplay within the Music app (it works fine when using it for everything via the menu-bar).

It was broken in some of the earlier 13.4 betas, was fixed in RC1, broken again in RC2, stayed broken in RC3/public and is still broken in 13.5 beta 1.

Does restarting your Mac fix it? And if not, can you tell me how to reproduce this?
After about the fifth reboot it finally got working. I have no idea what caused it, the Accessibility, Full disk access and other Privacy settings were empty in normal mode but correctly populated in safe mode. At first I thought they just got cleared, but then the Settings app threw errors when I tried to add stuff.

Very strange.

I was about to call major issue lol, glad it was just a 1 time issue.

Yes, for the 2019 Mac Pro. I don’t know if the Intel build is different, so best to check on Intel Mac.
I dont have an Intel Mac, so unfortunately, I can't check.

This is also why T2 BridgeOS System Firmware is always pending unless its a final release...

I've learned my lesson and got a VM of macOS 13.4 ready to go to macOS 14....

If anyone has a 4K 120FPS sony file that is shot in XAVC-S to test can they please tell me if it works in 13.5? If you can see thumbnail, view in quicklook, view in QuickTime or see it in Final Cut. I upgraded to to 13.4 and this is the first time that MaCOS has broken that format of video. I posted a sample clip in this thread. This would really help me out as public beta is out today.

Privacy settings, like full disk access, accessibility, screen recording are broken for me in non-safe mode.
would you be willing to test a video file for me? 13.4 broke a major codec for video editors (XAVC 4K120FPS) - Just want to know if it plays back in QuickTime, can be viewed in quicklook etc. In all my years this has never happened with any Apple release. Final Cut doesn't see the files either. Just a black screen.

Tested the file and can confirm it does not work in 13.5 beta 1 on my M1 Air. Preview doesn't work, opening it in QuickTime doesn't work and opening it in VLC doesn't work.

Clicked on the link (Intel 2020 MBA, Firefox, MacOS 13.5 b1) and it played fine.

Tried it in Safari too, despite the person in the video not being my type, and it still played ok :)
As someone who wants to edit videos, I was hoping tests could be made more on an OS/system level. QuickTime, Quicklook, Final Cut Pro

public beta's out (23may, here).

plays ok in safari; downloaded, and a black screen in quicktime. but plays ok in IINA.

something about the file type? i think it's more the file than the OS (as all my other video files work)

Hi fisher…never had any file codec problems prior to this OS all in the span of over a decade. There’s more info here https://fcp.co/forum/4-final-cut-pr...10-bit-4-2-2-on-ventura-13-4-on-apple-silicon - but not sure apple broke it - wondering if it’s limited to silicon machines at the moment. Seems to be XAVC files that utilize slo motion at 120/100fps

There is a new Pro Video Formats update, did you already install it? Does it helps?'

so, perhaps broken now. worth contacting apple and sony, see if you can get some help with it.

all the files my collabs send work (these go back over a decade), but i did find a .mov from 2004 that won't open in QT... and used to (haven't checked it in years, tho).

perhaps start your own thread here too... so ppl see the topic, and may have ideas...

good luck with this! 👍
