Hi everyone,
I'm unsure if it would be better to use two external SSDs (one 1TB for macOS media and one 1 TB for Windows games) or only one 2 TB SSD and create one 1 TB partition for macOS and one 1 TB partiation for Windows.
I came up with the following advantages of each solution:
One external SSD (one macOS partition, one Windows partition)
* Less "clutter" (one less drive, one less cable)
* One less port used (and therefore free for possible other user later)
Two external SSDs (one for macOS, one for Windows)
* No partitioning required (as far as I know, especially changing the size distribution later without loosing the data is not trivial)
* Separation (for example, if I need more space for Windows, I can replace the Windows SSD with a larger one without "touching" the macOS SSD)
* Lower risk of data loss (because each SSD is used less and if one fails, the data on the other SSD remains)
The cost differences are too small to be a concern for me.
Which solution do you suggest and why? Can you add pros for each solution?
