MacOS + Dell 4K Monitor = Scaling Issues?

Hey Everyone,

I just purchased my first 4K external monitor (upgrading from 1080P) and everything is SUPER tiny. Is there some scaling or magic in the settings of MacOS to setup things nicely (200% scaling) possibly?

Will depend on version of macOS... newer macOS versions use Settings > Displays > choose "Default"

I am using the latest version of MacOS Sequoia 15.4.1.

Open the "Displays" settings pane.
There should be a list of available resolutions to use.

Do you see:
1920x1080 (Default)
????

Try clicking on that.

If you DON'T see that option, is there a "switch" to "Show all resolutions"?
If so, flip it.
Does anything change?

If nothing above works, I suggest you download the free "BetterDisplay" utility and give it a try.

Actually, I recommend that you try it anyway.
Very useful and it gives you some control over the monitor "from the desktop" that you don't get with the Mac OS as it comes...

You want the HiDPI setting for whatever resolution you're comfy with.

It might be under a weird option in Displays.

But it's there.

I would also get BetterDisplay for great support of 3rd party monitors not supported by Apple.
It makes changing resolution, brightness, contrast, and audio volume control simple and can even map standard Apple hotkeys.
I paid for the extra features, but the basics are free.
