Whatever happened to the scenic illustrated desktop images? Was Catalina the last OS to have one? See below. For example, the lower left image on this MacBook screen was from Mojave. The rest of the images make the Mac look cheap (clockwise from top left: Monterey, Big Sur, Ventura).

Idk, obsession with abstract vector art?

Mac OS was like this from 10.0 to 10.6 (Aurora on 10.5 and 10.6, probably most iconic Mac wallpaper like Bliss is for Windows was computer generated).

Then in 10.7 and 10.8 we had space wallpapers but edited

Then since 10.9 we had nature photos as default

And now we are back to square one.
