Windows is actually losing marketshare massively, and the Mac is growing rapidly. You can even see on the chart the moment macOS makes a big leap is the day the first M series Macs showed up. Hell at this rate I wouldn't be surprised if by the decade's end the US desktop market could become Mac dominated just like how it's iPhone dominated.

It's still incredible how much the Mac has risen. Not even during the Mac vs PC days has it gotten to this point. In the past it would've been lucky to pass 15%. And now it's actually a threat and we finally have competition again. (Now if only Apple could fix the one thing holding mass Mac adoption back, the whole Mac gaming or lack thereof elephant in the room.)

That's very interesting.

I'm thinking that's what has provided a big boost is the popularity of the iPhone.
Windows users try an iPhone, and then... finding that they like it... decide to try a Mac along with it...

It also helps that the Apple Silicon Macs are just amazing computers and leagues ahead of other OEMs since they don't have to skimp on performance in the laptops, and have the longest battery life of them all.
