MacOS notes always synchronising

Hi,

Noticed that Notes on MacOS always has the spinning sync indicator no matter how long the app is left open. Notes seem to sync okay between my Mac and other devices and I have tried disabling and reenabling iCloud notes on the Mac but the issue remains.

Does anyone have any suggestions or potential remedies?
