I'm upgrading my main Mac M1 from Monterey to Sonoma. But I have older Macs that cannot go beyond Mojave, and older iPhones that cannot go past iOS 15. Will there be any compatibility problems in the Notes app? I just use Notes for text-based information, no fancy formatting.

I have Notes I initially created on my new 2011 MacBook Air (originally Mojave) that exist on my M2 Mini (Sonoma), Intel Air (Monterey) and iPhone Mini 12 (currently 17.5.1, but originally 14.1). Similarly, I have notes created on the M2 that show up quite happily on the Air and on the iPhone.

I think it's all about the sync with iCloud - as long as you have that set up on your devices, it shouldn't be an issue.
