Hi, I’m hoping someone can help. I have a 10tb external drive that’s half full. I got into a mess with kernel panics on my Mac 2017 with big sur 11.1.
My internal is divided up into an OS partition and a data side. The data side is full to the max.
Stupidly I’d gotten to the point where the OS partition on the internal didn’t have enough free space to reinstall Big Sur so I installed it onto the external drive so I could recover the essentials from the internal drive then erase it all to start fresh.
So far so good.
Now I’ve mounted the external drive to find my 5tb of files and all I can see is the OS folder structure. Has the OS installer moved the existing files somewhere into the structure? The drive is still half full so I guess they are there.
Anyone have any clue on this one?
