New M2 Mac mini with a clean install of 13.2.1 and all apps. I use PDF Expert as my default PDF viewer, and have it set as such in the app. When I right click a PDF and select "Open", it also shows PDF Expert on top as "Default". But, anytime I double click a PDF, this machine insists on using Preview to open the PDF. I deal with PFSs a lot, so having to manually select the desired app every time will get tedious. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there another setting I try to rectify this? TIA.

Just to confirm: You have clicked on (but not opened) any PDF in the Finder and hit ⌘i and changed the Open With box to PDF Expert and hit the Change All... button, correct? (see image below)

I did. It didn't work until I did the following: changed it to Preview as default, with Change All, then rebooted and changed it back to PDF Expert, Change All. That (finally) worked. I was opening PDFs every step of the way and it didn't revert until the final step.

Yeah, sometimes you have to redo the change. Not sure why though. In any case, glad the issue is resolved for you, because that would be mind-numbingly annoying to deal with day-in and day-out.
