Remaining Issues

  • Alarms may not play when your display is asleep for a long period of time (FB10086690)

    • Issue present since macOS 13.0

Untested Issues

  • "Legacy Extensions" will be incompatible with future versions (HP and Canon)

Additional Notes
  • Please know, Memory Management has always been an issue on any OS (not just Apple's). If you believe there is a Memory Leak, please go to the Apple Menu > Restart > Restart to fix it.
  • When a new macOS release comes out, all issues automatically go to "Untested Issues" until they are moved by someone. Issues that stay in Untested for 3 releases (beta or smooth) will be removed from all future threads. When there is a new macOS release, please be sure to let us know about the issue's status by moving it to either "Remaining Issues" or "Resolved Issues"
  • macOS 15 Sequoia will be installed via a Delta Update in System Settings. Please be aware about this and the update won’t install with an installer.
  • macOS 15 is officially supported on the following devices. If your device is not listed below, it has unfortunately been dropped by Apple. Any efforts of trying to get your Mac running macOS 15, including bugs should be discussed in this thread.

if anyone that previously updated OTA under the Sequoia 15.1 Beta drop down menu, you will see an error saying your email address is not registered to receive beta updates. you need to select the regular Sequoia Developer/Public drop down menu to get it to see the Beta 5 update for 15.1 beta 5.

I saw that same error. Rebooted my M3 MBP and now it doesn’t show the message about the email but still says I’m on the latest build (15.1 24B5046f.)

I just updated to new beta and under the battery icon where it says "Energy Mode" it says "Low Power". I've never seen this before.

Was the Energy icon green before? I could swear it wasn't. I never saw a low power mode on my iMac and used and an app t activate it.

I knew that mode only from my MacBook.

A bug that finally was fixed in Beta 14 came back. Where some processes are using near to or even more than 100% CPU. Force quitting those in Acitivity Monitor needs always about 5 tries to going back to normal for those. Reboot doesn't help.

It came back every da and I just blocked the for a while with "App Tamer" or limited their maximum CPU usage.

Let's see it it will come back every day again. Then I use a full installer to overwrite everything. Should do tha anyway.

I had the 15.0RC loaded and since then have not been able to get 15.1 to show up.

In the updates screen I see both 15DB and 15PB but both say that I am on the current version at 15.0

I have rebooted, signed out of my account and back in, and turned off find my.

Any ideas?

Do you maybe live in a region where Apple Intelligence is not supported? I updated to the first DB of 15.1 and when the second had been released it did not show up. I don't know if it's still the case, but I had to change my region setting to USA to get the update.

You can also just download the full installer and update that way.

https://swcdn.apple.com/content/dow...0bj0zd1s71gmhmlps51fzpgj/InstallAssistant.pkg

After running that InstallAssistant the installation file is in the Applications folder.

It's in the AppStore now too:

Then it might be a bug. Just use the full installer. It's like doing an update, just with a larger file to download.

Also I think full installers update the Recovery partition. Mine is still on an older version of Sonoma because I always used only updates. I will do this too, although I already updated.

Today suddenly deleted files and folders from my Desktop just reappeared again, mostly things I deleted yesterday but also a little older stuff from a few days ago.

And almost everything was in the cloud and had to be downloaded again. For example the complete Documents folder with about 6GB in it. I wonder what is also back in that folder, what got already deleted. Maybe it was even everything, that got deleted offline and automatic download brought a few things back before I noticed it.

Optimize Mac storage is turned off.

Never had this before.

Also the Photos app, had to download 110 videos again.

I eventually took the advise and used the installer. But now Apple intelligence won’t load. It’s been stuck on preparing for a couple days. I’ve tried all the suggested tricks to get it to load but it just won’t :/

Sorry. I wasn't here the last days.

I don't use Intelligence or Siri.

But I just activated it and it only took about 2 minutes to download and was usable. The other times I tried it, there had been even a waitlist for several minutes before.

I also used the full installer. But after the update. Was it maybe just a temporary outage? Is it working now?

Is my mind playing tricks on me or is the Sequoia calculator app much smaller than it was in Sonoma?

^^^^With some earlier Betas👎🏼 I have not seen that message in months👍🏻 And, yes I am on Beta 5 in my NcMP 7,1.

I just tried maybe an hour to get those updates OTA in Beta 5 and started downloading the restore images, searched for a full macOS install, until I recognized there is a 0 before the 1 in the downloading files. 😒

The description is also wrong.
