MacOs updates nerve-wracking!

These updates / upgrades are getting more and more stressful! Decided to "upgrade" to Monterey today and it was even worse than Big Sur.
Downloaded fine but then had about 5 or 6 restarts before the screen said "9 minutes remaining". 20 minutes later " 3 minutes remaining". 15 minutes later actually loaded. OMG, why does it have to be such a freaking drama - every time?

Anyway, seems to have not destroyed the fusion drive and so far only found Ken Burns effect doesn't work for screensaver / desktop....
Sure there'll be more but for now, thankful the computer works! ???

Seamless upgrade on both my Macs from Big Sur to Monterrey. But I have other complaints, such as Quick Look randomly stops working and won't work again until I reboot.

Sorry I don't get why progress estimates, which can never be taken literally, are "such a freaking drama." Since you know the estimates aren't precise and this gets under your skin, maybe you can find another way to cope, like stepping away from your computer during updates.
